OGKush the Alien has been a drummer and percussionist since the age of 5. Having studied with the great percussionist and teacher, Larry Levine, OGKush The Alien began his career playing along side trumpet player, Peter Ferguson (nephew of one the greatest trumpet players to date, the great Maynard Ferguson), started teaching at a summer music camp at the age of 13, and was head percussionist at Northeastern University from 1987-1991.
OG, a classically trained musician, has played percussion for just about every genre of music including Rock, Jazz, Pop, Americana, R&B, Reggae, Folk, Blue Grass, Hip Hop, Meditation, Yoga, Dancehall, House and club music. OG has performed throughout the United States and Canada and also has performed internationally including in Europe, Caribbean, and Russia.
OGKush specializes in working with, managing, and developing young new artists and is currently working with several Hip Hop, Pop, Americana, and Reggae artists.
OGKush is available for any music project requiring original musical beats and is also available for hire as a stand in percussionist/drummer for any genre of music for existing or future world, European or North American tours. In addition, OG can create an original sound, beat, sound track for any project requiring music including musical recordings, specializing in producing hip hop, Pop, and Americana beats, television show soundtracks, movies soundtracks, and gaming. OG has 3 Alien dogs Rasta, Carma and Mitch and splits his time between New York City, Jamaica and Lake George, NY .
OG and his family support the arts through donations to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center and also donate time to the Monks of New Skete and donate a portion of proceeds from OG's music to the ASPCA and Children's Charities....OG and Family support a healthy lifestyle and produce music to heal the mind body and soul with the ultimate goal to inspire everyone to step outside your comfort zone, perform an act of kindness just because, and love all humans ....even Aliens.....
